Halloween 365

Here at Kersey Valley Spookywoods, we are working year-round to bring you the scariest film quality characters, sets, and more!

We're currently in full production, which typically begins each November with the writing of the script.  Everyone always seems surprised to see us working on a haunted house so "early" in the year, but man,it's a full time job!
We create custom costume pieces for 100+ actors and staff, you won't find Freddy or Jason lurking in these woods!  Our show is 100% original.

We design, build, paint and prop each scene down to the smallest detail.

The majority of our Masks, Creature costumes, makeup prosthetics and more are made in-house by our art department.

Sometime we order props and masks, just like the ones you can purchase at your local Halloween store.  We alter them using many different techniques.

Remember to follow Kersey Valley's blog to see future tutorials and more behind-the-scenes with our talented build crew and art department.

Design Fever

Our design team of Joh Harp, FX supervisor,  and Amber Michael, Art Director,  have been working through the winter designing all new experiences for our loyal Spookywoods fans.  The haunted attraction bar is continuously raised higher to bring our fans more detail and creative design to take the haunt a notch higher than the year before.  During the off season between November and March Joh and Amber have caught Design Fever once again as they retreat from the cold to hit the sketch pads.  The new layouts have been approved and now the sourcing of materials and the building of the new season is around the corner.

The art department also includes Victoria Singleton our costume designer for Spookywoods.  She is the brainchild behind all the amazing costumes that bring our characters to life in the haunted house.  She spends many hours creating the little details for our actors.  On your next visit take note as most of our guest are to interested in getting away from the actors they don't have time to notice.

Another Haunt Season Put To Rest

We opened on September Friday the 13th with an amazing record breaking attendance.   The season was the best in our history with almost perfect weather.  It's time to pack away all the scary stuff and prepare for 2014 with brain storming sessions and budget planning starting in December.  We are headed off to IAAPA convention in Orlando to see what's new and maybe get some ideas of what we can add to Kersey Valley.

Thanks to all that came out to Spookywoods 2013!

Kersey Valley Expands The Farm

This week Kersey Valley, Inc. has made it's first move towards the building of an event center for weddings, corporate meetings, prom dances and parties.  A 10+ acre track of land adjoining the Kersey Valley complex was purchased for parking and space for the new event center this week growing the farm to over 60+ acres.

The next item on the list is to bring city water down Kersey Valley Rd to supply the farm with the volume of water needed for a fire suppression system for the building.  The Kersey Valley team is excited to see this dream of an events center finally starting to take shape.  Keep up with all the events and attractions on www.kerseyvalley.com

Nearly done!

Monday the 15th came and went, Spookywoods is nearly done. 90% finished. Farmer was out spraying the cornfield to kill the weeds and getting ready to put the corn in the ground for the Haunted Corn field as well as the big Maize Adventure cornfield. It's a little late of a start, but the rain has thrown them behind. What's this mean, the corn should be more full so you can't see so well through it, which means on the other side, someone could be lurking in the dark. We have 2 more nights of meetings, til we are close to firing up for the season. Get ready, this is the year you are gonna **** your pants.

Spookywood's 2013! The year of fear!
